Phlippen Jerk Pulled Pork

Phlippen Jerk Pulled Pork

Low and slow meets bold and smoky. This pulled pork gets marinated in Phlippens Jerk Sauce, slow-cooked until it falls apart, then tossed in more Phlippens for the ultimate fusion of jerk flavour and Ontario smoke. Perfect for feeding a crowd or meal-prepping your week like a boss.

Prep: 10m (plus optional marinating time) | Cook: 8 hours (slow cooker) or 4 hours (oven) | Heat: Medium (Phlippens Jerk)

Ingredients:

  • 1 pork shoulder (3-4 lbs), bone-in or boneless
  • 1½ cups Phlippens Jerk Sauce (divided)
  • ½ cup chicken or vegetable broth

Optional: Fresh lime wedges and cilantro for serving

The Gear:

  • Slow cooker or Dutch oven
  • Large zip-top bag or covered dish for marinating
  • Two forks for shredding

Instructions:

  1. The Marinade: Place the pork shoulder in a large zip-top bag or covered dish. Pour 1 cup of Phlippens Jerk Sauce over it, massaging the sauce into all sides of the meat. Seal and refrigerate for at least 2-4 hours, or overnight for maximum flavour penetration.
  2. The Setup: Place the marinated pork (and all that sauce) into your slow cooker or Dutch oven. Pour the broth around the base of the meat.
  3. The Slow Cook: Cover and cook on low for 8 hours in the slow cooker, or in a 300°F oven for 4 hours. The pork is ready when it shreds easily with a fork and the internal temperature hits 195-205°F.
  4. The Shred: Remove the pork and let it rest for 10 minutes. Use two forks to shred the meat, discarding any large pieces of fat or the bone if using bone-in.
  5. The Glaze: Return the shredded pork to the cooking liquid and add the remaining ½ cup of Phlippens Jerk Sauce. Toss everything together until every strand is coated in that smoky jerk goodness.
  6. The Serve: Pile it high on buns, stuff it into tacos, build a rice bowl, or just grab a fork and go to town.

Phlippen Tip: Don't drain all the cooking liquid—leave about ½ cup in with the pork to keep it juicy and add even more depth to the jerk flavour.
