The party food that never disappoints. Tender, smoky pulled pork piled high on soft slider buns with a tangy slaw and extra Phlippens drizzle. These little sandwiches pack big flavour and disappear faster than you can make them. Perfect for game day, BBQs, or feeding a hungry crowd.
Prep: 15m | Cook: 10m (if using leftover pulled pork) | Heat: Choice (Sweet Heat for classic BBQ sliders, Jerk for island vibes)
Ingredients:
- 3 cups Phlippen Jerk Pulled Pork (from our recipe) or any Phlippens-glazed pulled pork
- 12 slider buns or Hawaiian rolls
- ½ cup Phlippens Sauce (same as used in the pork, plus extra for drizzling)
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Optional: 1 tsp sesame seeds
For the Quick Slaw:
- 2 cups shredded coleslaw mix or cabbage
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp honey
- Salt and black pepper to taste
The Gear:
- Baking sheet
- Small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl
- Mixing bowl for slaw
- Pastry brush
- Tongs
Instructions:
- The Slaw: In a mixing bowl, combine coleslaw mix, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, honey, salt, and pepper. Toss until evenly coated. Set aside to let the flavours meld while you prep everything else.
- The Pork Prep: If your pulled pork is cold, reheat it gently in a small saucepan over medium-low heat with a splash of broth or water to keep it moist. Stir occasionally until heated through.
- The Bun Prep: Preheat your oven to 350°F. Slice the slider buns in half horizontally (keep them connected if possible for easier assembly). Place the bottom halves on a baking sheet.
- The Build: Pile the warm pulled pork evenly onto the bottom buns. Top each with a generous spoonful of slaw.
- The Top: Place the top halves of the buns over the slaw. In a small bowl, mix melted butter with garlic powder and brush it generously over the tops of the buns. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if using.
- The Bake: Cover the sliders loosely with aluminium foil and bake for 8-10 minutes until the buns are toasted and the filling is warmed through.
- The Serve: Remove from the oven, drizzle with extra Phlippens Sauce, and serve immediately. Watch them disappear.
Phlippen Tip: Hawaiian rolls are the secret weapon here—they're soft, slightly sweet, and perfectly sized for sliders. If you can't find them, any soft dinner roll works, but Hawaiian rolls are worth seeking out.
