Prep: 10m | Cook: 20m | Heat: Medium-Hot & Smoky
What You’ll Need
-
1 lb ground beef (or a mix of beef and pork for extra juiciness)
-
1 large egg
-
1/2 cup breadcrumbs (panko works great for texture!)
-
1/4 cup Phlippen Hot Smoked Sauce (for mixing)
-
1/2 cup Phlippen Hot Smoked Sauce (for glazing)
Let’s Get Phlippen Cooking
-
Heat it Up: Preheat your oven to a sizzling 375°F (190°C).
-
The Mix: In a large bowl, gently combine the ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, and the first 1/4 cup of Phlippen Hot Smoked Sauce. Mix just until combined – don't overwork it, or your meatballs will be tough!
-
The Roll: Roll the mixture into small, uniform meatballs (about 1.5 inches in diameter). Place them on a baking sheet, leaving a little space between each.
-
The Bake: Bake for 15 minutes. They should be starting to brown and cook through.
-
The Phlippen Finish: Remove the meatballs from the oven and brush them generously with the remaining 1/2 cup of Phlippen Hot Smoked Sauce. Return to the oven for another 5 minutes to let that glaze get sticky and delicious.
-
Serve: Pile them high as an appetizer with toothpicks, or serve them over fluffy rice for a satisfying meal.
Phlippen Tip: For an extra kick, finely dice a jalapeño or a few dashes of your favourite hot sauce into the initial meat mixture. You're welcome!
